The documentary investigates gaming workshops in China that hire people to play online games like World of Warcraft and lineage. The gaming workers play at least 12 hours a day to produce in-game currency, equipments and whole characters, which are sold to American players.
So next I performed a search on eBay and found a lot of this stuff for sale. Here is a link to a $2,000 character for sale. The character only exists in this massively multiplayer online role playing game.
The reason that I write about this kind of stuff is that a significant part of the future of our society and ourselves lies online. What we view as games today are the businesses of tomorrow.
